Center for Economic and Business Forecasting University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME Development Bank or SME Bank) announced the SMEs business situation index and the SMEs business competitiveness index for the second quarter of 2018 from 1,249 samples across the country. By surveying 3 indexes, namely 1. SMEs Business Situation Index (SMEs Situation Index), 2. SMEs Competency Index, and 3. SMEs Sustainability Index. Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanawat Phonwichai, director of the Center for Forecasting, said that the Business Situation Index for the second quarter of 2018 was at 43.3, an increase of 0.5 points compared to the previous quarter (1/2018), showing signs of clear recovery This is because it has been increasing continuously since Q3/2017 and is likely to continue increasing in Q3/2018 to the level of 43.6.
However, when comparing the business situation indices in the customer and non-customer groups of the Bank of Thailand, it will be found that among the non-customers of the Bank of Thailand, the business situation has declined in almost every topic of the survey. whether liquidity Raw material stocks, total liabilities, net profit, retained earnings. The Business Situation Index declined 0.6 from 39.4 to 38.8, in contrast to the SME customers. The Business Situation Index increased 1.9 from 46.4 to 48.3.
